Icelandic Shorts & Docs, Polish Shorts & Docs, Women in films & Newcomers, are the four film sections at Reykjavík Shorts & Docs Festival 6.-9.th of May at Bíó Paradís, Reykjavík, Iceland. This is the 10. anniversary of the festival and it´ll be bigger than ever before with 75 shorts & docs from all over the world.
Award winning documentary filmmaker Kim Longinotto is the patron of the festival and there will be Q&A´s after screenings of some of her films, as well as masterclass. The opening films of the festival is the documentary Town of Runners directed by Jerry Rothwell and Icelandic short fiction Krass directed by Tómas H. Jóhannesson. Rothwell is coming to the festival and will also hold a masterclass. Rothwell is also doing Q&A´s after screenings of Town of Runners and his other documentary at the festival, Donor Unknown (see also Docs & Film Festivals previous post about Donor Unknown here).
The schedule of the festival will be available on the festival’s website in the coming days. Docs & Film Festivals is the blog for the festival together with Snoop-Around; a photo/interview website based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Snoop-Around will be covering the Reykjavík Shorts & Docs Festival with photography/video based interviews, blog posts and new insights on the festival. The Snoop-Around crew will be located at Bíó Paradís, the official cinema of the Reykjavík Shorts & Docs Festival.
